Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Should I make an appointment?
A. It is always best to make an appointment with at least 1 days notice, as we can get very busy. We also take drop-ins on a first come, first serve basis.
Q. Do you have a night drop?
A. Yes, toss your keys in an envelope with your name, number and problem and we'll call you once we have a look at your vehicle.
Q. Do you guys do pre-buyer's inspections?
A. Absolutely, and if the person selling you the used car won't allow you to have the car inspected by your mechanic before purchase, then you should not buy the car from them, they are likely hiding something.
Q. Do you offer free estimates?
A. We will price out any repair for you at no cost, however due to the complexity of vehicles, and the variety of things that can go wrong with them we are unable to give an accurate assessment as to what is wrong without inspecting the vehicle and confirming the problem ourselves. The nature of the problem and the tests that we will have to perform to diagnose the problem are directly relative to the cost of the
diagnosis.
Q. What is your hourly rate?
A. We charge 80 dollars per hour, but a lot of our repairs are a standardized price that winds up being less than book time.
Q. Do you match competitors' prices?
A. We do not. We periodically shop the local competitors and find our prices to be comparable.
Q. What if I want a written estimate?
A. Upon request we will gladly give you a written estimate, otherwise your estimate is typically given verbally or over the phone. No repairs beyond the diagnosis will be done without your consent.
Q. Can I have my old parts?
A. You are welcome to have any of your old parts as long as you request them at the time you authorize the repairs, otherwise they get discarded daily with the trash. Any items that have a core value must be paid for if you wish to keep them.
Q. What kinds of vehicles do you work on?
A. We work on both foreign and domestic cars and trucks. We do not work on heavy duty trucks or engine driveability issues with diesel cars or trucks.
